Mobilities and Transnationalism in the 21st century: Methodological challenges
The PhD workshop will be organized in conjunction with the conference “Mobilities and Transnationalism in the 21st century”. The workshop will be held on Sunday, 28th of April, 2019 at the University of Iceland.
The workshop consists of keynote lectures as well as students’ presentations followed by group discussions. Thus, the workshop provides opportunity for doctoral students to discuss their ongoing work, research design and applied methods as well as get feedback from invited teachers and fellow participating students. Selected students will be required to deliver written presentation (not more than 2000 words) by 15th of April. Each student will receive two assigned reviewers as well will be asked to prepare comments to one of the fellow participants. Participating students can be granted 3 ECTS.
The invited keynote speakers are Professor Sharon Roseman, Memorial University, Canada and Professor José Luis Molina Gonzáles, Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona.
Eligibility and Application procedure
We invite doctoral students from different fields of social sciences (sociology, anthropology, social work, economics, business studies, political science and law) whose research interest is related to topics of – broadly understood – mobility and transnationalism. The workshop is limited to 10 students.
