Brynhildur G. Flóvenz is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law. She finished her Can.Jur. Degree in Law at The University of Iceland in 1989 and was a guest-student at University of Copenhagen 1990-1991. Brynhildur has worked as specialist at the Office for Gender Equality in Iceland, was admitted to the Bar, Icelandic District Court in 1992, became an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Iceland in 2005 and an Associate Professor in 2009. She has been the chairwoman of the Equality Committee of the University of Iceland and is a member of the Professional Council on responding to gender-related and sexual harassment and other sexual violence within the University of Iceland and is a member of the board of MARK, Center for Diversity and Gender Research.
Her main fields of research and teaching are human rights, equality and non-discrimination, feminist legal studies, refugee law, social law and the rights of persons with disabilities.
